It boggles the mind how little the GOP super-majority cares about what the majority of Tennesseans want - sensible gun legislation. This week SB1325/HB1202, a bill that allows teachers and school staff to carry concealed handguns on schools grounds is up for a full vote in the Senate on Tuesday, April 9 the House on Wednesday, April 10. Parents will not be notified when guns are being carried in the school. Call Lt. Governor Randy McNally (615-741-6806) and ask him to keep the bill off the Senate floor.
Last week the Senate passed a bill mandating that public school students participate in an annual course on firearms and, like the Baby Emily Indoctrination Video, there is no opt-out for parents. What? Rather than adults taking steps to reduce exposure to the leading cause of death in children. let's increase kids exposure to guns in schools but make the kids learn how to deal with it. How does that make sense? Call your legislators.
